Going by bus is a fast and convenient option with connections passing the ground on all sides.

Haymarket Bus Station

Approximately 10 minutes walk from St James' Park. The bus station serves a range of destinations in northern Newcastle, Northumberland and North Tyneside

Eldon Square Bus Station

Located next to Haymarket bus station, it serves a range of destinations in Gateshead, South Tyneside and County Durham

Central Station

Bus stops at Central Station serve destinations throughout Newcastle, Gateshead and County Durham

Blackett Street and Pilgrim Street

Approximately 15 minutes walk from St James', serves similar destinations to Central Station

Park and Ride Bus Service Available for Toon Fans travelling from North of the City!

Arriva will be providing new services for match days from the Park and Ride site at Newcastle Great Park to Barras Bridge for match days. The service will run regularly from 2 hours before kick off (10 minute frequency until 20 minutes before scheduled kick off) and run around 90 minutes after the end of the game.

Park and Ride Bus Service Available for Toon Fans travelling from South of the City!

The Soccerbus service will leave Metrocentre (Coach Park) two hours before each match, then every 10 minutes until 15 minutes before schedule kick off.

It provides direct access to St James' Park.

Returning from St James' Park at frequent intervals after each match, until 60 minutes after the final whistle.

Go North East will be running extra buses for fans travelling home after Monday to Friday evening first team home matches. Additional journeys will run on the following routes:

  • 21 - Newcastle to Chester-le-Street via Gateshead, Low Fell and Birtley
  • 58 - Newcastle to Heworth via Gateshead, Felling Square and Leam Lane
  • 97 - Newcastle to Fellside Park via Gateshead, Bensham, Lobley Hill and Whickham
  • X1 - Newcastle to Washington via Gateshead, Wrekenton and Springwell Village
  • X9 - Newcastle to Peterlee via Gateshead and Heworth
  • X31 - Newcastle to Stanley via Gateshead, Bensham, Lobley Hill, Sunnside and East Stanley
